Cetusss from Switzerland is building a collective piece called BAMMMMMMM, made with stickers from all over the world. It will be shown first in Le Havre, Normandy, France for the Whoopee Street Art Festival 2012 which runs from May 25th to July 15th at the Satellite Brindeau. Blitz Bash 2.0 went down on Saturday, May 19th, 2012 on sacred PKL tribal land in SYLMAR!. This years installment featured music by bands Crucial Infantry, The Hardknocks, D.E.A. (Vista Thrash Homies), Holy Tyrant, Street Value & Politikal Dekline. I went and hung out with the PKL & Unholy crews. It was good seeing old faces and meeting new ones. As usual there were illicit substances getting put to sleep a plenty and good times were had!

Art Battles 2012 continued its search for incredible American artists to send to Europe with the glitz and the glam as well as the nitty and the gritty of Los Angeles! It went down May 10th 2012 at the Exchange in Downtown Los Angeles. Grooving to the unstoppable sounds of DJ’s: Mr. Number Wonderful of Cannibal Flower and Bryan Davidson. While the top 4 visual artists that have been voted for online at artbattles.com by the fans battle live on stage! The winner of the first battle will then Battle 3 seasoned Art Battles Winners: Dave Zaboski, Gregory Siff, Miranda Maxwell, and Concep. YOU got to choose the ultimate winner, to be flown to Amsterdam to join Art Battles 2012 Euro Tour and the winner is : Dave Zaboski! … The downstairs gallery was the Blue Canvas Magazine release party for “Pressurized Content” featured new works by Risk MSK, TSL, WCA and Nathan OTA with several individual and collaborative pieces on canvas with various mediums and other mixed medium pieces as well and truly inspiring. There’s a new recent podcast with downset drummer Chris Lee (Krasp One) done by Sergeant D over at Stuff You Will Hate .com! This podcast is pretty thorough and touches on Graffiti and the underground culture it pertains to as well as the lack of respect for art in and around Los Angeles. We also go into a little Q&A on downset and some of the lesser known things you may or may not have wanted to know as well as some pre-downset history touching on Social Justice. Bring Your Black Book 3 was a grass roots event including Black Book sessions & Sticker Trading, Live Graff, Skating & MORE! I sent in a pack of handmade 228′s & a few LA-Artist X Krasp One slaps for distribution. The event was held at Rob Dyrdek Safe Spot Skate Park AKA North Hollywood Skatepark on Saturday, May 5th (Cinco De Mayo) from 12-5 pm and was geared to go off as the first two have, but unfortunately was ruined by fights and a break-up visit from L.A.’s finest. Saturday, April 28th, 2012 from 5-10PM Slap Yourself Stupid an interactive sticker show and black book trade took place at JustBlaze City Art Supply in the 602. There were free giveaways all night. I sent in a sticker pack for distribution including hand drawn 228′s and some LA-Artist X Krasp One collab stickers. This was a free event and security was strictly enforced. Saturday, March 10, 2012 Loft Beats presented: The Star Wars Art Show in Pomona. This art show featured various sculptures, paintings, drawings and a lot more all based on Star Wars. This ran from 5pm until 10pm and was FREE to attend and open to all. More information can be found on the facebook page here… This coincided with the monthly Pomona Art Walk (every second Saturday) (View map here!) which is a great opportunity to come check out great art in the IE. Loft Beats was also hosting a release party for Awol One next door to GCS that night as well; oh, and the food trucks were back too!
